Very interesting your action research. A suggestion is that you may want to view scores from students who do not participate in any athletic or after school clubs/programs to see who scores higher or has higher grades. Good luck with your research.

You have an intriguing action research topic. My guess would be that work ethic is fairly strong for dedicated athletes in the high school setting. I wonder if an athlete's work ethic changes as they progress through school and their grades directly correlate with their ability to play in UIL sponsored events? I ask as a third grade teacher, who observes students that are not committed to their studies but are committed to Pop Warner football. I'm looking forward to reading your findings.
